I am a nature painter. My subjects are White Pine, Douglas Fir, Live Oak, Eastern Hemlock, Copper Beach, Ash, American Chestnut, Burr Oak, Mangrove, and forest soil. Trees have one thing in common: each has been invaluable to whole civilizations. As I’ve traveled throughout the Western Hemisphere, I have photographed and then portrayed these magnificent plants in their #natural habitat. My renderings invite intimacy between the viewer and subject. The closer we are to the trees, the more we understand their significance, and the richer our lives become.
